The Iowa Electrical Apprenticeship is a nonprofit organization that is jointly sponsored by the Iowa Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association and Local Unions 231, 288, 347, 704 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. It is the responsibility of the Iowa Electrical Apprenticeship to provide training to the apprentices and journeymen in the organized electrical industry for the participating areas.

A committee of eight trustees oversees the trust. The committee is made up of one labor representative and one management representative from each of the following areas in Iowa. (Sioux City, Waterloo, Des Moines, Dubuque, Mason City, Fort Dodge)
